i am used to taking about 15 to 20 percs a day... will this one dose of sub help for a couple of days or just hours?
Can you find a Suboxone doc in your area? You will need more than just one, it may hold WD off for a day or so, but that's about it.
If you google Suboxone doctor's there is a spot where you can add your zip code (I BELIEVE that is correct, not a Sub expert tho) and you will find loads of docs in your area.
pattishan61 is our resident Sub expert on this forum, I shall alert her to your question, she may not have access to a PC at the moment but she will get back to you asap. Hang in there, and in the meantime google The Thomas Recipe for a list of rx and otc meds that will help while in WD.
Make SURE you do not take the sub without first actually being in withdrawal, or you will toss yourself into precipitated withdrawal which I hear is hellish indeed (any opiate WD can be hellish!!).
Keep fighting the good fight,
One dose of Suboxone isn't going to help much, you will end up in withdrawals when it leaves the system. I can recommend a very good website: http://www.wikihow.com/Use-Subutex-or-Suboxone
You really need to be under a doctor's care to use this medication correctly. As Sweetlemon mentioned, there is a lady here that is the expert on Suboxone and she will be able to help explain this. Suboxone is great for opiate detox but must be used correctly or you run the risk of precipitated withdrawals. It is a medicine that must be used for at least several months to be affective and then must be tapered off so to avoid withdrawals from it.
