I have a frozen shoulder and need pain relief! I take 150mg/daily of phenobarbital for seziures due to a head injury. I am allergic to Ibuprofen and should not take acetaminophen. What kind of drug can I safely take?
I too have seizures & have had two C-1 C-2 vertabre fussions & am in alot of pain. I don't know how high amount of Pheno, but if your worried about interactions if you use a narcotic like oxycodone or oxycontin or even Dilaudid if your pain is that bad, then ibwould try one of those. Niether of them have tylonol or Ibuprofin, but they do have dependency issues. I learned that I'm going to be on them for the rest of my life, between being in pain all the time & taking 8 8mg of Dilaudid per day,its an easy decission. Now if the meds had a side effect like damaging my liver or kidneys I'd have to find a different option, but everything I've read says they don't & until I read differently I'll keep taking them. I had this answer all but done & ready to submit a few hrs. ago but fell asleep. I hope I've answered your question & I'm sure there are other painkillers that aren't as addictive. By the way I've been on large doses of M.S Contin (100mgx2 a day) and smaller doses(30x2 a day) & the withdrawl is worse than Dilaudid(in my opinion) so if you do choose one & then decide you want 2 get off of them. Plus there's Methadone. Good luck.
