Now using DHE Injections during severe eye pain during a cluster headache. has anybody tried Fiorcet for this type of headache?
I have not used fiorcet, but I do use prednisone dose packs, also the life saving imitrex injections.this works for me when I catch a headache in its early stage a hot shower with the water concentrated on the side of my head pain can also use the burner of an electric stove directing the heat on the side of head pain.
Suggest you read thread at https://www.drugs.com/answers/cluster-headaches-303722.html. Note my reference to guidelines for cluster headache treatment at http://www.guideline.gov/content.aspx?id=10471 .
The absolute best thing to abort a cluster headache is inhaling oxygen, as pure as you can get it, straight from the tank or into a fairly tight fitting mask, for perhaps 6 to 12 minutes. it works best if you do it right as it starts. You can accomplish the same thing by running, or walking fast, to the point you become aerobic - "2nd wind" - which means your blood oxygen is going up and the vessel swelling is going down. Takes about 12 minutes. It is far better than any drug. When the pain goes, it goes completely and you do not have any drug effects to deal with. If you have lived with cluster you may also develop muscle tension headaches just from the stress, and you can get rid of those with biofeedback or some other form of treatment. Then you are home free.
I had just suffered a 48 severe ice pick pain behind right eye. Felt like a brain anurism.
I can recall Fiorcet's effects. Sorry as that was over 10 yrs ago.
I do know my morphine didn't provide a bit of relief.
Scary living alone when u can't even sit up.
Hope u found some information leads provided.
I have had cluster headaches for 12 years now-tried everything from seizure medicine to painkillers oxygen etc. Always behind the right eye-the doctor prescribed me Tramadol 50mg. Is somebody currently using this medication for the headaches? The doctor also wants to try and paralyze the nerve that sends the signals of a headache. Has anyone had this procedure? Does it work or just better taking medication? thanks-
