I was taking like 40 5 mg perc's a day or more. So i've been clean since nov 2008... but my question is when is the right time to start to come down off of it and stop taking it?? How are you supposed to know when?
Only you and with the help of your doctor and or support crew can know that question. If you want my opinion then here it is. A lot depends on how long you have been abusing and how much and what. Oxycodone is pretty strong and effects your MU receptors which is one reason it's so abused as it make you feel more euphoric then most opiates. Anyway, methadone is used for heavy opiate abuse and the golden rule is stay on methadone for as long as you were abusing. It takes a long time for our brains to revert back to their normal chemical state and suboxone allows this to happen. So you need to weigh this decision as it is very important that you truly feel you're ready... Good luck and try and get in touch with Robert as he is the expert with buprenorphene (suboxone, subutex).Good luck... Dave
hey, I was addicted to percs too, and I now am taking less sub than you are!
Please know that "being clean" is a statement/termanology/stereo-typed phrase that should not be used on the vicitm's that were perscribed the pain killers to begin with. But, as a person who has been through what you are EXACTLY wondering, there is no telling when, it's up to you. I PROMISE that you will wake up one day and realize if it's your day. Seriously!
A person who is feelin where you are comin' from!
