you get put into w/d when you take a sub too soon after methadone, but what if swim did a sub a little over a day ago and is wanting to take a methadone, will you get the same w/d results?
hi im linzii, 30, from midlands UK, I was on methadone liquid for 5 years and my doc decided to wean me off then substitute it with subutex all within24 hours of my last 40ml dose of meth,I had a terrible reaction i was put straight into w/d and within an hour of taking it i was crawling the walls, writhing in agony and suffered shakes and sweats and unbelievable leg jerks and pain. First thing i did was go and score some heroin to make the pain go away, it took 3 grams of smack i had to smoke to get well again and i was back to square one being an heroin addict again. I was badly advised by my drug worker. I later discovered that u must have at least 5 days break after your lowest possible dose of meth before you start subutex, it has to be done properly cos them 2 drugs do not mix, subs are part opiod blocker and a bad reaction is inevitable.
I am 10 days clean of methadone, I have a great drug worker and they have now prescribed me a drug called LOFEXADINE it stops the flow of noradrenaline in the body which causes the unpleasant withdrawels like sweats, sneezes, runny nose, shakes and discomfort. Me personally have found this drug to be a miracle and im so happy iv made it this far cos I believe meth is more addictive than heroin was for me. I have got through the worst now and its all worth it in the end. My advice would be to research lofexadine/britlofex and check it out with your doc and if u do decide to detox there are plenty of drugs to help u beat the withdrawels that are not opiate based or addictive, for instance ibuprofen for the muscle pain and maybe a short course of sedatives or sleeping tablets to help with the insomnia, thats what im doin and its working well for me and I had this belief that id never be free of heroin or methadone and that I was weak. Now im just 2 days away from finishing the course of lofexadine and im clean and keen and feel great, if I can do it so can u and anyone else, its not easy but its really do-able and possible and u will be surprised at how quickly it works too. LOFEXADINE is quite new and the only drawback is it can make u a bit lethargic and affect your blood pressure so regular blood pressure checks are very necessary every 3-4 days, iv experienced dizziness and tiredness so bedrest is a good idea while using lofexadine to detox from methadone. Good luck, i know its along one but i really hope this helps u, if sharing my experiences with people helps just one person consider becoming drug free than its been well worth my time and effort sharing, much respect and get well soon!!! L :)
your doctor knew you took a diffrent drug the day before you started on sub? or does he/she not know what withdrawl looks like? either way48 to 72 hours after a long acting opiate is the normal time your body needs to vacate methadone, and you should be in terible withdrawl.that is what parsipatated(sp) means.dont give up the fight, and thats what it is in the begining.
