... trying to talk them into a rehab program. They are talking about how you can melt down and injecting the pills or any kind for that matter
Please keep talking to your friend to try to get him/her into rehab. This is a very dangerous practice. Not all pills are able to be melted down. Infact, the drug companies are changing the formulas to make some where they turn into a gel when this is done so they can't be injected. What is happening with your friend & others is making it very hard for legitimate people that live every day in chrontic pain & need these meds a living hell to get. The FDA & DEA are coming down hard on doctors that prescribe these type of meds for the people that really need them. It's an unfortunate situation that some people just want a high out of life & nothing more. They are called addicts & definately need help. The best way to help your friend is to get his family invovled & do an intervention. This basically forces them to make the choice (whether they want to or not) to go to rehab.I have always been of the mind set that a person has to want to go to rehab, & have good reason or it doesn't work Take for instance the number of peope in jail that are forced into rehab programs, but do it because they are forced too. Most end up failing because it isn't they who want this it is the courts & family. The person has to WANT to change their life for the better. I wish your friend the best, & hope he/she does ask for help before it is too late & he/she ends up on a slab in the coroners morgue...
