I have beent taking hydrocodone for 3 1/2 years from being in an accident and it resulting in an extremely screwed up back, neck , and legs. Some how I ran out of my rx one day before I could fill them. Quite honestly, I don't abuse them and take them only as directed. I tried to find enough hydrocodones to get me through the day and a "friend" told me to take this stuff called suboxone. I had taken my last codones about 3 hours prior to this. I still feel ok, but my pain is extremely intense. Its worse than ever. I got curious about this suboxone that was supposed to just be another pain med so I started reading all of this stuff on here. I'm now scared out of my mind and had NO IDEA what I was doing!!! Can I take my regular meds in the morning? I took the Suboxone at 7:00 pm this evening and should be getting my prescription in the morning around 7:00 am. PLEASE HELP ME!!! I'M VERY SCARED AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!
The first few doses
Of the hudrocodones may not work as well due to the opiate n suboxone called buprenorphine is a partial opiate antagonist. It has a long half life so it may take a day or so to have the hydrocodones to work as effectively as they did in the past. Good luck. Pup
Yes you can take them. 12 hours after Suboxone is more than enough time. They just may not work as well for a few days. But just taking Sub once isn't going to cause any long lasting problems. Just don't do it again. The opiate in Sub does kill pain, but in a different way than regular opiates do. And once you take over 1 mg of Sub it's best to not mix them for a while. You can only mix them continuously when the Sub dose is .5 mg a day or less, such as it is in the Butrans patch.
