I hope Im posting this in the right place. Please, no judging me. I want help. Ive been taking painkillers for about 15 months. I'll get or take pretty much whatever I can get or have money for. Oxy 80's,Oxy 40's, perc 30's are the main pills that I take. The big boys... as bad as it is. Taking pills everyday is ruining my life. I never have any money, I have ruined some relationships due to taking pills. I just have to get off of them. I can get Suboxone and Subutex from a friend so that is the only person I do not want to delete out of my phone. The rest of my "dealers" Im deleting and changing my phone number. I cant always get the subs though, or always have money to buy some. Please, someone help me. What should I do? I have a daughter that is almost 5 that I love more than anything in this world. I HAVE to get off of these painkillers for her. Thanks...
Nat, You actually are supposed to go to counseling when you are on suboxone to help deal with all the emotional issues that helped create this problem for you. If you can't do that, ( money issues) you can go to AA and deal with it there, addicts and alcoholics have the same types of issues and they will welcome you. Subs should help with the cravings for opiates as well as heal the damaged neurotransmitter/receptor sites in the brain that go offline when we take opiates for any amount of times. I am guessing this isn't the type of answer you wanted, but, I actually am explaining what it is going to take, some form of counseling to deal with the issues, some support from sober people, and the meds and proper treatment to heal the damaged parts of the brain. If you are taking the subs right, it should last over 24 hours, taking it right also means being on the right amount, and not too much or too little. That is why it is a good idea to go to a subs doctor.
You may not do that, I realize, but do consider the AA thing, to help you deal with the issues that helped cause this, teach you how to deal with craving and temptation, and put you around sober people. It cost $1 donation to go to AA and they won't make you give it if you don't have it.
Just wanted to post a little update... While it has only been 3 days I have not taken any painkillers. This is a big step for me. For the past 15 months I have taken some sort of painkiller everyday. I think that the suboxone is helping me a lot! It is making me not have withdraw and I dont have cravings for the "feeling". The only problem that I have been having is not being able to sleep. I took some sleep aids but they dont do too much for me. I read that when you come off of painkillers that insomnia may be a problem. Anyone have any suggestions?
