The med was produced by another company, who lost their rights to produce this med due to new strict FDA guidelines. They do not know who is currently producing this very valuable medication. The Interstitial Cystitis organization has old info. I have a new valid script from my urologist here in southern MA. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Hi - I can sympathize - I have IC also. Amazing how much your bladder can hurt, isn't it? Whoever would have thought! I can't help you with the pyridium but have you tried Proced DS? It is similar - reduces inflammation, anti bacterial, anti spasmodic, etc. I find that it helps some, better than doing nothing at all. I've also gotten (some relief) from Amitryptaline, which is a very old tricyclic antidepressant is known for helping with IC. Keep in touch - I'm always looking for new ways to deal with this awful pain. ElizaJane23
I recently (12/2011) tried to get pyridium plus for my Interstitial Cystitis and was told they no longer make it, however my pharmacist told me what the separate ingrediants were. So instead of taking one pill, you would take 3 different ones. They are, 150mg phenazopyridine, .013 hyoscyamine-hydrobromide and 30mg butabarbital (only comes in 30mg tablets but pyridium plus only had 15mg in it). Hope this helps!
