i have been addicted to opiates for over ten years now. last year i started going to the methadone clinic i was on eighty milligrams of methadone for one year and then i got into i free rehab. i detoxed off the methadone for only about six days and the rehab basically kicked me out because i have no insurance. as soon as i got home i started back in my old ways ... stealing and manipulating to get my fix ( opanas usually ) . I have started a new job with a temp. service and will not get insurance unless i get hired on full time but that will be a long time and im scared that my addiction and lack of money will make me loss my job because of detoxing : (... i need some advice. should a start back on the methadone? should i just give up and kill myself???
Man I think you should do whatever leads you to being and staying clean. Look I am 4 days into suboxone from 12-16 Roxy 30's a day. So yes I know what you mean, and I believe you should never ever give up. If you walked that path once, how hard would it be to walk it again? Seems to me that is your best option.
Hello and welcome to the site. Most of what you are feeling is from jumping off the methadone quickly and that can be remedied, please stay here. Sounds like some bad depression is setting in, don't give in, FIGHT. You have more than one choice here, and sometimes knowing you have options makes you feel stronger. An antidepressant even on a low dose will help. And believe it or not, some mild regular exercise will help, sounds odd, and the last thing you want to do, but it really helps. Helps ya stabilize by sending a reboot signal to the brain, produces endorphins, regulates eat-sleep-wake cycles. You might check to see if you can get some state program to pay for suboxone also, you don't have to, but it is an option if you can get help paying for it, you might can get some coupons from a subs dr or the company, go to suboxone.com, see if they offer help, they have a toll free help line and you can ask online.
Please don't even think about going anywhere permanently, you have lots to live for, just need some options and help. Please update us, we care around here. Patti. PS of course methadone is an option too, sorry, forgot to add that. Do what you gotta do to get better!

And you are stronger than your giving yourself credit for so pick your self up our hands are stetched for you and stay on track you can do it hon 1sec 1min 1hr 1day at a time. Their was a rough patch for a minute dust yourself off and try again! dont you leave us we need you! You are not alone keep posting we will pass the sec min hrs and days together yf jaime litlmommag
Please don't harm yourself. That is the easy way out. You have worked so hard to get away from the drugs, please, oh please don't do this again. From a Mother's heart I beg you not to do this to yourself. Listen to PattiShan61. With her & all the other people on here we can help you thru this. If you are afraid of the money you get from your new job will be a temptation, then give it to someone you trust(a family member) until you need it to pay a bill. Just to get you over the hump. I have done this with my son so he didn't have the funds to do drugs. His idea too. I think once you start your job, it will also help your self esteem. Stay with us my friend, & you will get thru this trial...
Well, the up and kill yourself is definitely not a good option. No way! Will the methadone enable you to keep your job and do the things in life one needs to do? You were kicked off the methadone unfairly, so this is no way to judge how life will be without the opiates. If your body was given time to do this properly you could go without the methadone and/or opiates. Whatever you do - don't give up! You are at the start of something new that just might turn out to be fantastic - a new job! Do whatever you need to do to get through this life. If you can handle it, go without the opiates. If you can't, go back on the Methadone and SLOWLY work your way down off them. Most of all - take good care of yourself!
You need some serious help for two things and I think they are quite obvious. I am in so much pain and have osteoarthritis in my spine, two failed fusion surgeries and now a small mass growing on the surgical level (another surgery). I don't know if you are serious about the last thing you said but if you can avoid ever saying that again, let's do that. Getting affordable help when you need to detox sounds like an oxymoron. Since you want to get help why don't you try your local county hospitals or some of the local private hospitals. Don't go to one of those rehabs where you have 800 thread count sheets and gourmet meals. You need to detox not a vacation. If you find a rehab at a county hospital try your best to get in there but I want to tell you now. DO NOT say you're suicidal because then you will end up in the psych ward (you don't want that).
The psych ward and detox drug treatment are two different things entirely. In the psych ward you're around combative people with severe mental issues, drooling everywhere, naked 90 year old men smearing "yuck" in the bed next to you. You get meds that make you sleep for a whole week. In detox you get your suboxone, maybe some ativan/valium, NA meetings money for cigarettes and different things, a pen to write letters, and different things. Anyways, my cosin found a detox treatment center at the local county hospital, walked in and admitted himself and he was right on his way for help. You also have a great choice with going to a private hospital. They have charity programs for "cash patients" (aka people without insurance). If you say that you live at home, you work for a temporary agency and you have gotten no jobs, get a note from the temporaty agency that is written "To whom it may concern" ___________ works for _______________ as a temp. When he does get a contract to work he is paid _________. At this time he is not at a location working. Thank you. Anyways those charity programs are wonderful I racked up a $15,000 bill and because I was able to honestly prove that I was in need of charity and unable to pay my bill was completely taken care of. If you can maybe sent me a message and I can help you further meaning to helping you find the right hospitals with the right programs but only if you need it. I would love to just write a how to guide for people with no insurance to get into the suboxone rehab treatment for a small cost or no cost because it's far more detailed than this but like I said it saved my cousin and quite a few other desperate peoples lives who had no other way to get themselves or someone they loved into detox rehab for help. Please message me if you need anything. Good luck.
