I have had 5 surgeries on my lower back and still am in severe pain. I just had an mri ran that states I have two more buldged disks one where the dr was supposed to have removed. His PA called me Fri and said I would need surgury to correct it and I told him the dr was supposed to and told us he removed the one he had no responce to that. The dr called me today and said the mri was as clean as a whistle. I have the mri report that clearly states the L3-4 level has a circumferential disk buldge and L5-S1 has a disc protrusion that abuts the s1 nerve root along with mild bilateral neural foramennarrowing at this level along with the L4-5 region what can I do I cant even get help from the dr
First and formost I would get a second opinion. That office sounds like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Surgery is a big thing. I use to take it lightly and I found out the hard way, don't believe everything you hear the first time. Always get a second opinion. Especially when you are dealing with your back. You could wind up paralized. Not trying to scare you but it's your back and we only have one of everything. And as far as I know, they haven't come up with back implants... Just trying to get a smile... Good Luck my dear... Kim
I agree with Kim, 100%.
One day I asked my mother what would she would had done different, if she had life to do over again. Her answer was, she would had never had back surgery. I know that you are looking for pain free. But 5 and more on the way is way too many. They are there just collecting the money. $$$$$
You probably feel worse that you did before your first surgery. Get yourself a good pain management physician. Prefer one that is pain management and addiction medicine.
I am sure they have you so far junked up that you would sign up for anything. I know this sounds bad because it is. I would do anything to help make you feel better. But it is yours and Gods hands.
Take it one day at a time.. : )
Are You on medical asst.? I have had that done to me several times. They still havent told me completely what all is wrong with me. I had test done for arthritis and other things and they told me that I am fine; but I do have it; I had mris done and went to another dr. They do not want to tell U for some specific reason. Bulging disks they normally wait until they degenerate to do surgery. I have bulging disks and they say that they take ten years to degenerate and then they will do surgery. I have 2 more disks that are degenerating in my back; my dr didnt tell me about whats going on,the dr who gives me injections in my neck and back told me. It is a no no for drs to tell the truth. The insurance companies give them a bonus to keep their mouth shut. U will have to change ins. companies when U can . If U are on medical asst. and can get U-care ,do so. Stay away from health partners. I do not know what U are on but it matters.
Nerve pain like we both have is something that never goes away and I believe that no one can help except for pain medication. I was going through hell with nerve pain in my neck and back and the dr. finally put me on a miracle drug last week that doesnt make U drowsy and lazy and I actually feel like leaving the house. Fentanyl, I feel no pain whatsoever. I didnt know that a person didnt have to suffer everyday until last week. Try getting another ins. company and a different dr. U will learn like I did through that experience. Take care. P.S. I would think twice before U get surgery done, try to get a good medication that will help U with your pain. I wish that I would of never gotten surgery on my neck; but in reality I had to. I have titanium in L4L5 in my back so far until the other ones degenerate all the way. Take care and remember no one has to live in pain; there are meds that do help;as lo0ng as U use them the right way and dont abuse them.
