The severe sciatic pain is worse that the bone on bone on my knees. I won't have medicare until November 2011. Any suggestions on the best pain medications??? help
you need to have t talk with the doctor and let him know just how bad the pain is maybe he can work with you inorder to help you find a medication that will work to get this severe pain under control, there are many medications that are long acting which release throughout the day so that you don't continually take pain medicine, they are prescribed for people like us who have pain throughout the day not just once in a while, once he is aware of what is going on he may be more than willing to helo you find something that will make you feel much better, I wish you the very best
There are many choices, as caringsonbj mentioned, for pain control. Some are long acting while others are short acting. Some are narcotics and therefore addictive while others are not.
Your orthopaedist, or doctor that has been treating you for the conditions you mention, is the best to advise you on what is appropriate for your situation. They will need to know all the medication you take so to give you the best advice. I know doctor visits and the medication can get expensive if you don't have any insurance. So be sure to let the doctor know what your financial status is.
Good luck and keep in touch if you need further info,
