I am cancer patient and take Oxycotton 80 with the new insurance I cannot afford to pay the $600+ for the perscription, as I am on a fixed income can someone please give me some information on getting assistance with this?
There are programs in the US that do take applications for assistance through the drug companies, cancer societies, etc... you can google or search for these by the topic of cancer or drug assistance. Your own doctor should be able to lead you to these groups, my nuerologist fives me sammples of Keppra all the time!
oxycontin is oxycodone continuos release. thats what it means. it is equal to 16 5 mg oxycodone but if you took all 16 it would hit you all at once. the oxycontin is released thru out the day. I asked my doctor is he could prescribed me oxycodone with the tylenol and just let me take 4 of them with is 20mg 4 times a day.He said no problem and my prescription was only $79.00 for a months worth. I dont know if you take more than one 80 a day.if not you could possible as him for the 15 roxicondone and take 3 to 4 of those a day and that is about $100 amonth. these pharmacy company basically took a drug that has been around for 50 years and remarketed it and upped the cost. another alternative and a very good pain killer and very cheap is methadone you can take it once a day and depending on the severity of your pain and tolerance people do well on about 30mg a day for moderate pain and for one months supply its bout $50.00. there are alot of alternatives out there than the oxys do your research and you will see that the main ingrediant is oxycodone and a lot of companies make it you might just have to adjust your dose or take it more than once a day but you can save yourself hundreds of dollars if your dr. is will to work with you believe me i know, i had the same problem i was taking on 80 a day and i couldnt afford it so i took 4 5mg oxycodones 4 times a day and it worked wonders on my pain and wallet. good luck.i feel for you andknow what its like.
