was looking for a good doc to treart my panic/anxiety. all i get are doc.s who throw their latest antidepressant. they dont work and im sick of being a ginia pig or then thinking cause i know what has worked for me classifies me as a drug seeker. i have to go through months of drug trials that i've already said i;ve tried then they give me 0.25 klonopin. you couldn't calm a fish down with that. any help would be a god send Thanks
I hear what you're saying! A lot of people with anxiety have luck with therapy. If you are tired of trying drugs, I'd consider that as an option. You really don't have anything to lose and at worst, you'll learn some techniques to help you control your responses to situations that are causing your anxiety/panic. Some people even swear by both meds and therapy (here at my hospital we do both so I am one of those people). Just a thought. Hope it helps and hope you find relief for your anxiety.
Bow: I had panic/anxiety Have you tried Zoloft/Sertraline. I started on Prozac but 2 many side affects, so Dr. put me on citalopram, which I liked but Dr. didn't like it so started Sertraline & stayed on it for 8 yrs. It's an SSRI. It Will calm you down. I got too mellow at first so I started taking it at night. Helped me with sleep problems. If you try one of these new ones, be sure and check it out well. Some of them are bad news and have "black box" warnings and lawsuits tied to them. Look for a generic if you can, otherwise you're makin' payments on your Doc's "CADDY"! Sacosam
I understand your frustration.I have been struggling with depression and anxiety for over 20 years. The only thing that ever worked for me was klonopin(2mg 3 times a day) unfortunately I became addicted to that drug. After rehab and more pain and suffering than I can relate to you..I am still trying to find an answer.I have been treated as a guinea pig over and over again.I have tryed virtually every anti-depressant around..all made me worse!I am now trying seroquel(the doctor's latest guess at what might work). After 3 weeks I am not impressed.I understand your problem all too well.Good luck and God bless.
