does a 5mg really last 8 hrs??? Its really not for me, but what would the next step up for my Doc?? more mg? or more x a day? i suffer from chronic bain pain and lordosis... I just started getting lumbar facet injections as well...
lou-rae, is it oxycontin or oxycodone? i was given oxycontin saying it was alot stronger, oxycontin is with out the tylenol and oxycodne has, and for some it works, for me it didnt. it also is said that the percocet/oxycodone thats with the tylenol has a better affect of working. ask your dr for something more or to up the dose if its not working, hang in there, but be aware, its highly addicted. im on a taper off of percocet and its a living hell, take care
I take oxycodone & it doesn't have tylenol in it at all. I take 15mg every 4 to 6 hours, but sometimes I cheat & take one every three hours during the day when I'm up. I don't run out because very seldome do I take it during the night. I sometimes add a tylenol to mine & it seems to work better. Am going to talk with my doctor about it in January when I go back. I was on Lyrica & it tremendously helped the pain & helped me sleep, but have had to quit it do to side effects. 5mg is a faily low dose. I would mabye call your doctor & ask if you can increase the dose to 10mg. Everyone is different & will react differently to each drug. It could be it's not the one for you, but I suspect it's the dose. Good luck to you. I hope you find something that helps your pain...
