... morphine sulfate IR a day, dont feel any relief yet? Does it take a while to work? I'm a little scared of this medication should I be?
I was changed from Hydrocodone & tylynol to morphine 10 3 x a day and I tryiede this for 2 months. The last 3 weeksI could not sleep. I was having the most horrible nightmares. I would lay down to sleep only to waking an hour later in a cold sweat. I would try to go back to sleep only to wake again with ans entirely different nightmare. this would go on and untill the sun would rise. I finally told my pain speciallist and he immediatly switch me back to the hydeocodone. What A relief. Now I could sleep and the dreams if I could remember them became your run of the mill dreams not the moon crashing into the earth or giant machines eating everything organic with giant filaments grabbing onto anything organic trees cows, people yes I think you get the idea. Oh with the morphine I didn't notice any real pain relief. It still hurt but I was so woozy that I didn't care about those sharp pains running up and douwn my spine. The worst was the sharp pain that would start in my neck and run down my elbow through my funny bone to my fingers(and believe me there was nothing funny about this at all) And What would get that started was a certain motion of my neck moving to muchto the left or right.so to avoid these pains I woild mostly turn my torso instead of just turning my neck To answer directly yes that stuff the morphine sulfate scares the heck out of me. Now I am oxycodone and I dont have nightmares anymore and within 30 minutes of taking these the oxycodone I feel like maybe I can do some moderate excersie. Well within 24 hours after trying moderate excersise my pain levels would shoot up to the stratosphere. So I learned the hard way Pain relievers are just masks and when the masks come off I never like what I see!!
