it was perscribed to me a week ago because i had cancer and had my right kidney was removed.
I now have arthritis in my knee's and Methedone was prescribed to me because Vicoden would be bad for my left kidney. but now i don't think that methodone is a good idea?
i have been on methadone for 5 yrs. i think it's a good pain med if you don't have an addictive personality. i did good the first year. the next yr i got down to 10mgs a day by myself. i was so proud. now like the addictive person that i am , i'm up to 60mgs a day per dr.s orders. but my back will start hurting or my new thumb surgery, etc. so round and round i go. I agree u are right. methadone is very addictive and hard to get off. But you should ask someone that's not a weak person as myself... avoid any meds that are addictive if u can... that is my personal opinion... good luck. kim
vicodin comes as vicuprofen- no tylenol just ibuprofen and hydrocodone.I took it for awhile and helped my sister detox off of it. It was a miserable two-three weeks. just about anything is better in my book. check out having your knees injected! fairly simple procedure and no funky side effects from an addictive drug.Good luck dear. Methadone also can cause kidney problems. when doubt talk to the doc Good luck
