that I usually take, but they gave me the 800 mg. pills and told me to break them in half. The pills are very large in comparison to the capsules. Does this medication have a buffer (like tylenol) in it ?
Hi there Jessie. First mail I got to tonight. Hope you're doing ok. I couldn't find anything that indicates a buffer like ingredient in the gabapentin. It says to avoid Morphine, Hydrocodone, and Naproxone. It also mentioned that when you half the pill, be sure to use the other half as your next dose and discard any halved pills after a few days. This is just a list I copied of the inactive ingredients. I looked at a few different sites and no mention of Tylenol, Ibuprofen, etc, in this medication. I hope you are feeling ok and I'll keep you in my prayers. :-)
"The inactive ingredients for the capsules are lactose, cornstarch, and talc.
The 100 mg capsule shell contains gelatin and titanium dioxide. The 300 mg capsule shell contains gelatin, titanium dioxide, and yellow iron oxide. The 400 mg capsule shell contains gelatin, red iron oxide, titanium dioxide, and yellow iron oxide. The imprinting ink contains FD&C Blue No. 2 and titanium dioxide".
When I was on this medication, I was on 900 mg a day. It was what theytold me would stop xanax cravings, and relieve chronic pain. It did help the pain a little, but being that it works on the same receptor that benzodiazepines do, I can't say that any amount of neurontin(gabapentin) would make or break a person.
