I have been an opiate addict for 9 years now. I just got out of prison a month ago and I was in for a year and a half, so that's how long I've been clean as well. now that I'm out I got started on Suboxone treatment to prevent me from relapsing again. I take 8mg a day, and that alone is kicking my ass because my tolerance is so low. Everyone thinks this is a good thing for me and I believe it is too, but it's making me sick. When will the sickness go away?
Yes, I have seen where Suboxone used in the manner that your doctor is using it. In fact it is also proper protocol for the use your Doctor is using it for. If you relaps on your drug of choice the receptors are ready for it. This will keep you clean as you can not get a high again, as Suboxone will prevent it from giving you that high. It is said that we know only 10% of what a drug can do.
Sorry to hear about the sickness but it is better than taking a chance from going back to prison, look at it as part of the healing. You now have a chance to start a new life as I know you can make it if you want. FIGHT ON !!!
