They are Lortabs alright, maybe you need to request for another version of the tabs manufactured by UCB Pharma. Lortab 10/500 tablets (Hydrocodone Bitartrate and Acetaminophen Tablets, USP, 10 mg/500 mg) contain hydrocodone bitartrate 10 mg and acetaminophen 500 mg. They are supplied as pink, capsule-shaped, bisected tablets, debossed "ucb" on one side and "910" on the other side.

Aside from Rajive's very good answer, by law, you can not be given sugar pills or a placebo unless you volunteer for a clinical trial. But the meds you were prescribed are most definitely the medication Rajive mentioned, Lortab. Also, Big Pharma must have the same active ingredients in these medications, generic or not... FDA requires this.
i have took the pink ones before there are lortab 10/500... i dont know about you but some people i know just dont like the pink ones ... they would perfere the blue or yellow norcos ... or even the green lorcets ... but the pink are the same as blue ... if this keeps happening to you just change pharmacies again... good luck and GOD bless you
