... only time im not is when i take vicodin or morphine that i get illegaly. i fear i am addicted to these drugs and i want help but at the same time i just want it to end. what can i do?
You need to get to a doctor and be totally honest with him/her. Let the doctor know that you feel so bad that only opiates give any relief. I truly believe that people like me and you suffer from a low production of endorphins and we need medication to help with this. Opiates will help this condition but only for a short time. After a couple years if you r lucky it lasts that long the euphoria turns to dysphoria and you become absolutely miserable. It then gets so bad that you end up ODing or end up in a mental ward or both. So forget about abusing opiates as it is a dead end. Get to the doctor and tell the whole truth and the whole story..Good luck and hang in there, people do care and will help you if you are honest with them... Dave
Sounds like your in a real tough place to be. I'm physicaly dependent on morphine/Dilaudid,but I have a prescription for it. I'm sure you don't want to hear that you should try talking to a shrink & mabey try a different anti-depresant or another one. I don't know why you started taking the opiates to start with but if you have real pain & need pain meds you should try to have a doctor give them to you so at least that's something you don't have to worry about. I really think you are at a point that you really need to talk to a shrink very soon cuz you sound like your about as low as you can get & I think your well being is in danger. Talk to someone don't do something you can't take back,I mean it always makes me so sad when I hear about someone young (or anyone really) killing them selfs because it may not seem like it now butit will get better, and in your case it doesn't sound like it would even take that much to get things better than they are now,and just keep working from there. Well that's all I have to offer but I really wish you all the luck in the world. J.
