Since I've started taking vitamins, my blood sugar has gone and stayed over 200. I'm systematically eliminating some of the vitamins like Omega, Folic Acid, Vit. D. Can anyone help me find a list of drugs and vitamins that raise blood sugar? Thanks so much.
It is very unusual for your blood sugars to go up if you start taking vitamins. I have searched and couldn't find any information about these either. Most of the information is about what the vitamins can be useful for ... none really state things like raising blood sugar. I will try and see if I find something on this. I'm sure there are vitamins and supplements which bring on an effect like this but it is hard to identify which ones.
Hello I have had very similar reaction to time release niacin and soon after I switched from regular niacin from sollary brand to slo niacin my sugar levels spiked and stayed above 200 as long as I was on time release niacin. After I switched back to regular niacin the sugar levels went back to normal. I am type 2 diabetic. Actual cause was load on my liver by time release niacin and my liver enzymes had gone out of acceptable range. Consult your doctor for checking your vital blood test for kidney and liver function
