After having a Pap Smear I was diagnosed with Bacterial Vaginosis Flagyl is the drug of choice but gives me severe headaches can Batrim be used instead?
ask for metrogel intravaginal gel or Cleocin cream intravaginal. metrogel is flagyl in a gel form for the vagina, but usually the only side effect is a yeast infection following the treatment, you might ask for a diflucan tablet to follow the treatment. Bv is an overgrowth of any of 6 bacteria or a protozoan called trichamoanas. The bactrim will probably NOT work. Bv can be triggered by hormone shifts, if you are menopausal, you may also need estrogen cream intravaginally.
