i have had these headaches for just over 20 yrs i have had mri's they they say they see nothing wrong , but there has to be with how bad it hurts something should be able to be done...
I'm no doctor and i also dont have severe headaches but my cousin does. Just like u nothing helped, no OTC medicines or anything. her doctor finally perscribed her Fioracet, dont know if i spelled that right, but she says it a wonder drug, the only thing that works. oh yea the Fioracet she gets has codeine in it. I say that cause she had Fioracet w/out it n it didnt work. Only Fioracet w/codeine helped. But like always ask your doctor.
I used to have migraines all the time and I found several articles about foods and drinks that had ingredients that could trigger migraines. Some examples are wine, esp. red wine, aged cheese, any lunch meat or canned meat, bacon, bananas, caffeine, chinese and mexican food, wine coolers. I also was on the pill and always had a migraine the second day of my period and I realized the pill was causing some of the migraines, but, I decided to take them to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. The more natural foods that you can eat, the better. It may cut some of them out for you. They also put me on Elavil for fibromyalgia and that reduced mine a bunch. I hope they get better soon. You probably will notice a decrease in them when you go thru the change.
i take topamax and inderal and have taken it for over 15 years with no side effects and with great results i've forgotten what i's like to have to go to an ER and beg for damn injection like your some drug addict i beleive daily maintenance medication is your best bet and i haven't lost any brain cells or memory from the topamax. i hope this has helped you. missy
My sister and I had severe migraines and they sometimes lasted for 3 days and I would puke all over the place. She was prescribed fiorinal. Like fioricet it is used for migraines but it has aspirin and butalbytal which relaxes the muscles in your neck. Caffeine helps too but not too much. Those 3 combinations always got rid of mine. I see someone else told you about the fioricet. Have you tried it. I always thot the fiorinal was better because of the aspirin but I think the butalbytal is what gets rid of the headache. Good Luck - those are miserable and I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy - find something that works. Imetrex worked for me also but made my heart pound and I just couldn't take it very much.
