i have been having alot of pain in my neck and we were going to see if the r/a was in my neck now, but to my surprise it is not. my doctor said it is this facette (if that is how to spell it) and this is in my back and there is no cure or meds to make it better. can anyone help me out here
Sounds like your doctor isn't interested in helping you too much. It's called "Facet" it's the area between your discs and vertebrates. It runs down the entire length of your spine. Almost like picturing a ladder. I'm not 100% sure of that but I think I'm close. If I were you, I would make an appointment with a spine specialist and tell him what your doctor said. There is help for you! There are so many treatments available. Radio Frequency Thermocoagulation, Spinal Blocks, Facet injections, etc. Don't let your doctor blow you off like that. Start doing research and go in to the spine specialist armed with information! I wish you well and you WILL find the answers! Sorry to say, but your doctor is a liar. There are always meds to make it feel better. Good luck to you and be sure to give us an update.
I have been dealing with this for over 14years now. I have had facet injections before, but I am trying it again. My neck has tears in all of the disc in between them. So here we go again. They do help though. I had the first series done about 2-3 weeks ago. I will go for the next set April 20th. Really all it consist of is the pain management doctor shooting seriod injections or (trigger injections if you will) in the direct area of your pain. It seems to help alot more this time than it did the time before (which was several years ago). I hope you can find a good doctor that will work with you. Research it. It may or may not be a good fit for you. Good luck..kimmie1 By the way, they put me totally under for this. It is a surgical (sp) procedure.
