After being on this for a week, I have been experiencing a drunk state. I am on a very low dose (100 mg 3 times per day) will this feeling subside? Of course I would ask the doctor except that it being Thanksgiving , he has been out of the office all week, and won't return until next Tuesday. I'm thinking of stopping it, but I'm worried. Any suggestions?

I've not heard of Neurontin being used for panic disorder and anxiety. My fiancé takes it because he has a damaged nerve so they give that too him. I also have a friend whose mother suffers from chronic pain and her pain management dr just started her on it. When my fiancé first started on it I of course did research and I know it is also used for people who suffer from seizures. I also suffer from panic disorder although my case is mild and my dr prescribed Zoloft and Xanax for breakthrough anxiety. I guess this didn't really answer your question but I guess my point is that this med seems to be used for many different things. I really hope this works for you. Good luck!!
I am prescribed Neurontin as a mood stabilizer due to having a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder. I have been happy with the results so far. It seems that the Neurontin has had a calming effect on me. Additionally, it helps me to get a more restful sleep. The only downside that I've noticed is that I seem to have a little bit of puffiness under my eyes when I awaken in the morning, but that subsides throughout the day. To my knowledge, the drug has a pretty low side effect profile. I sincerely hope that this drug helps bring you some relief.

If you still think the drug has a "low side effect profile" you need to do more research... and good luck getting off of it, it's causing me hell at the moment
