I have found fills with M on one side and 10 on the other.same bottle were pills marked MD 530?

M 10 is Methylin 10mg
MD 530 is Methylphenidate hydrochloride 10mg (a generic)
So, yes, both the same drug. Methylphenidate is used to treat attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is also used to treat uncontrollable periods of daytime sleep (narcolepsy).
