I was diagnosed 4 1/2 years ago and I am 25. I've tried all kinds of birth controls including the depo shot. I was on there for I think maybe 2 years... I stopped it because I was so ready to get pregnant and start a family. Well it took 11 months to get my first period back, it was SO PAINFUL. I worked my way through it and had my period for 4 months in a row which was AMAZING because I've always had off kinds of periods... like 3 or 4 a year before all the mess of surgery and birth controls and shots and things... But now its September and no birth control, and no periods since April, but every month around the same times its like my body is "pretending" to have a period and all I get is a uti and yeast infection... My doctor is being a jerk and says I am fine to push through it... I'm on a 3 month waiting list for another doctor so I am just pushing through... Anyone have any suggestions? Cause I take a bunch of meds for a depression and stuff...
I don't have a whole lot of experience in your area, but I do have endometriosis! Maybe the monthly pain you're having is ovulation? I'd have the same thing every month with ovulation and discomfort and discharge. I actuallt thought for the longest time that I was having recurring yeast infections! Have you had any recent ultrasounds to check for ovarian cysts? Also, endometriosis can definitely cause infertility! I had to have a surgery to clean mine up, and then got pregnant immediately afterwards! Good luck with doctors! They are horrible when it comes to endo! I've had my fair share of horrible experiences with them! I ended up seeing an endo specialist in Bend Or who was wonderful! But there's only a couple docs like him in the whole nation! My advice is to just be firm about what you want! You know your body better than anyone, even them! Good luck!
I agree with what taliecakes said,it may well be your ovulating time when these pains occur. I too suffer with endo, have tried bc's,depo shots, had surgery, more bc's and my gyne put me on hormone injection-decapeptyl,it did nothing for me,only make everything worse.
I have a 2 year old son,so it is possible to have kids,i've been suffering since i was 16,but only diagnosed few months back,i know how awful the pain is-i'm going through it everyday not just through periods, this shot has stopped me from bleeding but i still have the pain and not just one week in the month, the whole way through.
I agree with you that docs are horrible, when it comes to this,my doc convinced me i was imagining all the pain because i suffer with anxiety/panic and depression she thought it was all in my head until i went privately and then finally diagnosed with endo. But the gyne is as bad now i'm thinking, its always a rushed visit when i have to go see him and he's after pushing me into getting this injection without telling me bad side effects,i've never felt so rotten in all my life,i'm back to him fri to see can he do anything, but i'm doubtful as i've another 3 half weeks on this injection.
Anyway i hope you get yourself sorted soon, its horrible going through the pain and all that goes with this horrible condition.
I wish you well,take care
Thanks for the info everyone. Yeah I can't seem to find a good dr. I have a nice gyno right now but she doesn't do any surgeries. I am always going to the hospital because I have pain on my lower right side. I am always afraid it could be my appendix. But it never is. They says its my endo. I'm to the point now that I am just going to have to suffer. I've tried to apply for pain management but they think endo is a joke. So I'm just stuck. always broke and always in pain. Always crying. Just exhausted. Dont know much else to do.
I to suffered great pain from endo I tried bc but I can't take any bc do to periods lasting all month long while on each differnt one that seems to be a prob for all my sisters as well but I had 7 laposcoptic surgeries one to diconnect my overy from being wrapped in my intestine, lots of scar tissue and a lot of other mess cyst in and on the ovaries a big problem I do have 2 children though when I had my tubes tied then a few months later I had to have more of the tube removed do to endo. Problems kept persisting til I turned 30 and he wanted to do anther lapyscopy and a dnc which then I insisted on a hysterectomy best thing I ever did... I know yoou want children and you can have them with endomitriosis so keep trying. I will give you a piece of advise that helped me after 5 years of trying put a pillow under your butt while trying. Leave legs up after for as long as possible do not urinate for as long as you can after this worked for me hopefully can help you.
Try not to use cleansing agents is what my doc said it just stops natural moisture needed and makes the pain worse. The more you stress about getting pregnant the harder to concieve try to take the pressure off of the outcome and just love each other up when mood is right it'll happen. I wish you luck and pain free days... oh and id definatly get a new dr who is sympathetic to your needs we need drs who care about our wants and needs. Take care!
