... in public. When i am at home or with my parents i dont get any symptoms. But whenever i go outside my neck tilts horribly toward the right side. Then i have to keep my hand on the right side to bring it back to the normal position. Is this cervical dystonia only or something else?
I am not a physician or a psychologist but have lived with this disorder for over 4 years. Any sort of anxiety makes the physical symptoms more apparent. One quick fix (lasts about 30 minutes) is to find a private spot (even a bathroom stall), relax, drop your head down in front of you while seated. Breathe deeply in through the nose; exhale through the mouth. Do this for about 3 minutes. Then, pull your head up. It usually buys me about a half hour of nearly complete relief from spasms.
