for doing this?
Any benzodiazapines taken with buprenorphene (subutex, suboxone) can cause respitory failure. Is your suboxone doctor ordering or is it being prescribed by a different doctor. Some doctors will keep prescribing benzo's even though they are meant to be taken acutely and not chronically for fear of patient goping into dangerous withdrawls.
alcohol and benzodiazapines are two drugs that if addicted you can actually die from the withdrawls. So a patient detoxing off either of these drugs has to be carefully monitored. Most doctors even though they know that the benzo isn't doing a good job after a month or so won't stop ordering it for fear of withdtawls.
So this could be a reason why your doctor is still prescribing the benzo. You really should get medical advice and get off the benzo as prolonged use causes more damage then good... Dave
