I have a problem with constipation. Mys DR. presicbed Miralax. However a friend recommended that I try Psysllium. I have been taking a teasspoon 3 times a day for five days and drinking plenty of water.
miralax is an excellent product. used to be available by prescription only. it sounds as though you have a pretty bad case of constipation. though psyllium is also a great product, alot of times it won't work on constipation that you've had for several days or longer. i recommend that you get the miralax (totally safe, non-habit forming) & use it until your bowels are completely evacuated. then switch to the psyllium & use it faithfully every day without fail. that should work to keep you from getting constipated again. but, if you do use the miralax again. if this doesn't give you the relief you need, then have your physician re-evaluate you to make sure there isn't something else going. continue drinking lots of water, hope this helps
