Started the Seroquel and did not have a good night at all last night. I had strange dreams and awoke after each, having panic attacks and my head having unusual sensations. My body was very relaxed, extreme dry mouth and my brain was working overtime. When I had to get up this morning I felt like I had a bad hangover. Took quite a while to feel awake. Do I have this to look forward to every night?
It depends on the person. I take 200mg to help me sleep at night. It's a great medication but has some side effects such as weight gain and it's possible that it might make you tired. You'll just have to wait and see. The dose your taking is a moderate dose. The maximum dose you can take is approximately 800mg. So you're taking a moderate dose. Hope this helps and I hope it works for you! Good luck!
I take 800mg of Seroquel split in an am/pm dose. If I remember rightly, my Doctor started me at 100mg am and 100mg pm and then increased each dose gradually by 50mg over a period of maybe two weeks. At the same time he gradually reduced the Zyprexa the Seroquel was replacing. I developed type 1 diabetes whilst on Zyprexa but because I desperatly needed medication for my mental health issues, I had to go over to Seroquel, which my Doctor said was better for me with diabetes than the Zyprexa. I must say though, for me, it was the best thing that could have happened. My mental health problems have never been so well controlled. So I would say give it a good try, and I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me. Good luck!
I take 450 of Seroquel, and it's been a lifesaver. I had to go down on it to 300 for a week because my refils were going to be late... after 3 days, my mom was willing to pay whatever it cost to get me back up to my regular dose. LOL. There goes mom thinking that if I was just stronger I could do without it. It was a great learning experience but I never want to do that again!
