i dont like the "high" associated with some pain pills due to the nature of my work..i take aleve in dangerous doses,,know that aint good..any input appreciated
I would ask your doctor about putting you on an extended release pain medication. There are some non-opioid meds on the market. Unfortunately, even though you don't get the pain relief after 20 years of vicodin, you will probably experience withdrawal symptoms. Depending on the cause of your chronic pain, maybe there are procedures or medications you could obtain through a pain specialist. Please consult with your doctor about a possible referral. Good luck on getting your pain under control.
I would sit down and ask my doctor what the next step would be. I don't have a clue what causes your pain and I wish nothing but good things. If you have been on Vicodon(hydrocordone)sp for that long, it should not take to much to refief your pain. But as the person before me said, a time released med would seem to be the right fit. But always check with the doctor and get his/her opinion... Best to you kimmie1
