i just got a job interview and have the drug screen tomorrow. my counselor said from what shes getting its not going to show up but i'm so afraid its going to even being legal. i don't know if i should go in and tell them or not, i don't want to not tell them and they see it and deny me the job not knowing its legal but also i don't know how to explain it, i'm not the type of person that is going to be able to do that easily. i think its a swab test but either way swab or urine should it show up? i found a discussion board that had many opinions some said yes some said no i just don't know what to do!
Suboxone is an opiate type drug, you already know what it is for, opiates stay in the system for some time, you've been on it for quite awhile, so nine -ten it will show positive for an opiate containing product. To be on the safe side, talk to HR, explain whats up, tell the lab that you are on suboxone, how long etc., believe me its better to be honest about the drugs in your system than act surprised it showed up. You have a prescription, you are legal, you have the right to the medical care you are under and receiving, you are showing that you have taken responsibility for an addiction issue, and you are gladly dealing with it legally, and effectively changing an old life style that no longer suits your life, or your needs. Lots of people have addiction problems, you just dealt with yours in the best way you can, with the resources available for you. What you've been does not determine who you are today, you have changed the old play ground, and turned your life around for the positive, not the negative. High powered attorneys, to the low life street crack addict can change given the opportunity, sounds like your on the way and have been for 11/2 years now. Don't let a single problem distract all your efforts, look past the mistake, you have the solution, the tools the armour and the power to be better, leave the crap in the dust, leave the door ever so slightly open to remember, but don't look back, don't stop, and for goodness sake give yourself the right to be happy, joyous and free!!! Remember the saying, H.A.L.T.=The don't's: Hungry, angry, lonely, tired, and G.O.D--- good orderly direction, hope you get the acumine, say the opening to the meetings before you go into the urine/swab test, or the human resource department, or the boss, then remember : This to shall pass, as will you.
