... months. Now that I am not taking it at all, I am having symptoms like this. Upper abdominal pain, dizziness, feelings of impatience, temperamental, aches in my arms, legs, headaches, sleepiness, and can't seem to lose weight no matter the diet or exercise. I had gained over 60 lbs while on lexapro. I also take Keppra for seizures, I am going to talk to my doctor about weaning off this too. He wants me to quit takingKeppra. I have only had two seizures in my lifetime. One when I was 16 and one in 2005. Both were grand mal seizures non-epiletic. Can you help?
Thanks,
exhausted

Hello exhausted/Isthst101659. I can see from what you've written, that you are exhausted. Feeling as you do I might be also. Why are you stopping the lexapro? Is it because its no longer working for you? And are you replacing it with another medication? I was on lexapro, but for a much shorter period of time, just under a year. I dropped it because of constantly feeling tired. The anxiety and sleepiness I can understand those symptoms. But the stomach pains, aching throughtout your body, I don't understand it. How long is it since you are without taking any lexapro whatssoever? It might be a good idea to get hold of your doctor and explain whats happening, going on. No reason for you to suffer like this. Trully hope you find some answers and that you do feel a whole lot better and soon.

I weaned myself off this because I did not like all the weight gain and still feeling the anxiety and iother problems, they oput me on it because they felt it would help me with the side effects of the seizure medicine. I am not so sure. i could not stand myself taking this medicine. I can only hope tht I will feel better in a few weeks. I don't go to my neurologist until October. He wants to take me off the seizure medicine, but I had to wean off the Lexapro first. Sometimes I feel like doctors just take advantage of you.
I understand a bit better now. Thanks for explaining it. Well, I know about weight gain and medications. I am on two that are doing a number on me at the moment. I drink fluids. Coffee and water by the gallon. Or else I'd be right up there, in as much as the pounds are concerned. Are you planning to take something else, to help ease, lessen your anxiety? There are other types out there, that might not give you a weight problem. Zoloft, or Prozac will help ease your anxiety. What does or is your doctor, and or neurologist, planning to do? leave you without any medication? Or do you yourself not weant to take anything more at all?
My neurologist said that he did want me to be retired and still taking siezure medicine. Considering the cost of medicine is in the triple digits and is not recognized by my insurance company I would rther not take this medicine any longer than I have to
Ok, I understand. Its always about the money. Catch22 situation. I can well understand how that is. Even with insurance, and I do pretty good, still often, expensive. Usually, given the choice, I go generic. And luckily, the medicine or drug rather works much the same as the name brand. Which is all the difference. Drugs are sky high. Its often sad that you have to make do without whatever it may be, just to get6 your medications. There are programs out there, but often, depending on income and cirumstances, people fall through the hole. Best to you, hope that it really works out.
