I have been on cyclosporine for psoriasis for many years and decided to stop taking my medication to plan for a baby , I got pregnant some months later and unfortunately had a septic miscarriage leading to a d& c , it's been 4 months since my operation and I've had no period as yet , however my psoriasis has come back covering 90% of my body . I need to go back on my medication cyclosporine ! Maybe then my periods will come back because I won't be stressed about my body , can I take cyclosporine in pregnancy if I ever get there
Reddee21, I want to be honest with you, a stranger cannot answer that question, but the doctor who knows you have psorriasis and your ob doctor can tell you what you should do for the the sake of the pregnancy. If the psoriasis is that bad, then why would you stop the medication, I am just wondering did a doctor tell you to cease taking the medication. many times they will perform a c-section and save the child while you continue to take needed medication. When we stop a medication on our own, we really do not know the reactions and responses that will counteract within our body. To prepare for another child really see what the two doctors have to say about it, in this way you will be safe, and hopefully next time the baby can be safe as well, if there is a possibility. So, be carefully when you visit one doctor get him/her to write a note for the other doctor concerning specifics in your care. Especially if you are dealing with something that can affect your physical health. In this way everyone is aware and has control over the situation for your safety and the child that everyone is preparing for... and remember I do not know the entire situation and this is just my opinion of what I would do... vtech10
