Ask your doctor about Ativan ( lorazepam)
Ativan is a high potency benzodiazepine drug which has all five intrinsic benzodiazepine effects: anxiolytic, amnesic, sedative/hypnotic, anticonvulsant and muscle relaxant. Lorazepam is used for the short-term treatment of anxiety, insomnia, acute seizures including status epilepticus and sedation of hospitalised patients, as well as sedation of aggressive patients.
maso4169 is right about Ativan. I liked it better than both Ambien and Klonopin. Klonopin actually made me stay awake. Ambien made me extremely dizzy(more than I already am). :) The interactions checker stated that Ambien efficacy is reduced and(or)delayed if taken with or 20 minutes after eating. So it is more potent taken on an empty stomach.
