At first, several years ago, I was going to 2 docs because my doctor would not give me enough to cover the panic attacks.. Later, after she put me on an anti-depressant, I did not need it from the other doctor but this other doctor is my husband's doctor... so, I continued to fill it for my husband under my name. I never went in to see his doctor but once, and he kept calling it in for years. Now, this doctor (husband's) said they found out I was getting it from my primary. I love my primary doctor but am worried sick she won't fill the xanax or any other controlled drugs anymore and I will have to go cold turkey. Is this so bad? What should I tell my doctor?
I have been getting xanax from 2 doctors. At first it was because the amount my primary doctor was?

I only saw 1 other doctor for 1 medicine.
Who reported this to the doctor? They will not tell...
Hello lauraleigh. I'd tell your doctor, explain it as you just did here. I believe that your own primary will understand and continue to write you your prescription(s). Now, how is your husband going to be getting his xanax. You said that you continued to fill the perscrpitions and gave him the pills. One thing is a given, you cannot go cold turkey on a benzodiazepine. That could be extremely dangerous and your own primary doctor is aware of this. I'm certain, things will work out for the better. Best wishes to you,
