... bulging and herniated discs degeneritive disc disease, arthritis, spondyliosis, neuropathy, and cervical stenosis. During therapy even light massage on my back mostly on the left side would cause the muscle in my back to contract and is extremely painful but would relax after 10 minutes. After a bad episode last week my pain doc gave me injections (trigger point) which helped somewhat but what causes them? With the other symptoms that I have the spasms for the most part were not a priorty. Now I notice that most large muscles have that. Has anybody found any particular medicine that works? Ive taken 3 different muscle relaxants methocarbomol, cyclobenziprine, and diazapam and the spasms continue. Is there any thing else that may help? Seems very light excercise and walking may even start the spasms. It seems to me that the Drs just dont know...

I remember one time when I went walking with my nephews guess I thought I could keep up after 2 or 3 blocks I was on the ground curled up from the spasms. My nephews were going to call an ambulance but they the spasms lessened with no movement, had to walk slow to get home.
Try water therapy. I was in the Chiropractor's office one day and I saw a friend of mine who had been in a car accident. The Chiropractor was stumped that she was not getting well as fast as hoped. I suggested water therapy. After 3 weeks she has improved 65%. All of us were so surprised.
Now my friend is walking in the water with ease and is really enjoy her ongoing exercise. With no medications ! remember everyone is different, but it is worth a try.
I can relate. I am currently going thru the steriod injections now. I have had good luck with the first ones. I go back on April 20th for the next series. Did you try them? I don't think they work for muscle spasms but if it helps with the pain that is a bonus. I really hope you find some freedom from this. It is the pits... Big time... kimmie1
