I have this problem and it is very embarassing, I can't believe I am writing and asking this but here it goes. I wash at least two to three times daily and sometimes more and it doesn't help. I have this strange odor that comes from my personal area and I can't figure out what it is. Like I said I wash all the time and wipe real well when I go to the toilet, I have no rashes. I have had a complete abdominal hysterectomy because of cancer about ten years ago, I was taken off estrogen because of a blood clotting disorder I have, on Coumadin. I was wondering if this could possibly be hormonal, I have never had any veneral diseases so I am sure it is not that and my husband is as clean as they make them, so I guess I am asking if anyone else has ever had this problem before. It has been going on for quite awhile now, about three months and I am very embarassed. HELP.
It's hard to find the real cause of your genital odor. Do you have discharge or had urinary tract infection lately? It can initiate vaginal infection. It maybe bacterial or yeast infection. Some women are too sensitive to odor where others are not. For home remedy, I increase my intake of vit c. tablet or fruits . I also tried bath using apple cider vinegar treated water. It will take a while to see the result. I suggest you visit your gynecology as soon as possible.
Hey, Yes this could be the result of a hormonal imbalance or it simply could be a overgrowth of bacteria. We all ( females) have colonies of different bacteria that are perfectly normal in our vaginas, cervixes, and uteruses and some of them actually keep us from having yeast infections all the time. I read a really good article on Bacterial Vaginosis ( which may be what you have) online by doctor James Christian and he really explained how the PH of the vagina gets off and this upsets the delicate imbalance of the different bacteria and then this produces smell. I think it was on the site vaginosis.com. If you put bacterial vaginosis in the search bar, you will likely get taken to the same site selling probiotics, but look up vaginosis.com and see if there is an article by Dr. James Christian. If it is there, look at the chart of treatments that they did in the UK and it will list one douche formula that worked on the 12 year old girl having this problem. I tried it and it worked. But yes, it can be hormonal, if you see a doctor, they will give you metrogel most likely. It works, but, it can also cause a yeast infection as it kills off all bacteria good and bad and this problem can still come back.
