... anyone have a suggestion for pain relief i thought i was in heaven for 6 days almost pain free with the dilaudid now on monday i see a cariologist from an irregular ekg whats next i'm on other meds for fibro... lyrica also i can't take codeine . missy
I take morphine everyday, however one time when I had to make a trip to the ER when I had kidney stones, they gave me Dilaudid for the pain. Within fifteen minutes I was wheezing and having extreme diffuculty breathing. It was much later when I went home and looked up this medication I discovered that Dilaudid can cause an asthma attack quickly especially when given by IV. My chart states quite clearly that I have COPD, Asthma and a host of other allrgiesl They then switched to morphine, however I was never so terrified in my life.
Codeine is also one of my enemies, I know what your going through, so many medications out there and too many I'm allergic to. I did all my own research on pain medication and brought my ideas to my doctor to see if she had any suggestions on which one was worth a try. I don't know what all your reactions were to the the meds. However, work close with your doctor and see what suits you. Mine would give me an RX for about three days, if I reacted to the med she would switch it to another one until we found the one I was able to tolerate. Have you tried, Ultram, or Darvocet, Percocet, Tylox, or any meds close to these? What level of pain are you in, like 0 being none and 10 being the worst ever,? What works for one person in pain control doesn't alway have the same effect on the other person. I wish you much luck in quest to find the drug that controls your pain , without the terrible side effeccts. Just remember all of the meds have some sort of side effect, some I just learned to cope with as long as they are not life threatening. I hope this helps a little bit, I'm sure you will find a lot of help here, a lot of seasoned posters have a plethora of ideas to share. My best to you and Bless you. Good Luck.
Hi Missy A just had a abnormal ekg segment at my family doctors office then took it to my cardiologst and I was fine. he told me no ekg will be identical . He compaired the ekg to the one in his offfice and identified what she saw and said some of these changes come from alot of reasons like age medication he mentioned other things but I can't remember so if you are worried about the ekg piece it is more than likely nothing but as we say everybody is diifferent. Hope this helps Talk to you soon let me know about your appoinntment I do not know why I used this venue to to talk to you. I guess because ut was your question
