... who can help. I recently tested positive for Suboxone on a UA. I do not take Suboxone. The only meds I take is Tramadol 50mg, and Advil pm. If anyone can tell me how this happened. I would be grateful. I could go to prison for this, and really never took it. Please help. Thank you
Ok, this is what I found in my research:
Advil contains ibuprofen and Ibuprofen - Can Cause False Positive For Marijuana (THC).
Advil PM contains diphenhydramine and ibuprofen, now Diphenhydramine - Can Cause False Positive PCP results.
The controversy is that tramadol is a narcotic-like pain reliever, "it is a centrally acting opioid analgesic."
I hope I have been of help.
Hey there mirstarlyte I am a new member but I am on suboxone due to my looong battle with pain pills and methadone. If I am not mistaken I believe suboxone may require a seperate UA like methadone, if not it'll just show up as another opiate.Since your freedom is at risk you need to demand another test or have your physcian write a letter to the person that did your UA, because if he or she is prescribing Tramadol, that could be the reason for a positive UA
