.Why do I have to wait that long!!! My father had cancer lukiema I stay sick all the time what could this be? Please help
I totally agree with Marvell on this. Did you personal physician refer you to some specialist? If so, call the specailist & talk to them about getting in earlier because of you family history. I had such a spot (& still do) years ago, & it turned out to be just a calcification & they just watched it every 3 months, so try not to worry too much. I would think that if it looked really suspicious, the doctor would have put stat on your chart, but sometimes these appoinment making girls just don't get it. They know me well enough it had better be within a week or I give them thunder! Just an idea. It's not fair to have to wait & worry that long for sure. I wish you all the best, but try calling the new doc & convey your worries. You may well get in sooner. You have to be very forward with your health care or they will kill you. I kid you not! Good luck & let us know how you come out...
Welcome to the site. Some times you just have to take matters into your own hands. Marvel and Mary are right, see a specialist NOW, you don't have to wait. If there is a medical college within 100 miles of you, go there. Don't know what area you are in but there are 4 or 6 cancer treatment centers of America in different areas of the country, contact the closest one to you. Md Anderson in Houston is great teaching cancer hospital, in new Orleans, there is the oschner clinic, great place for cance and I am sure I spelled that wrong. Vanderbilt in TN and UAB in Birmingham al would also be good. Your pharmacist may also be able to help you locate a dr in your area. There is a blood test called the CA 125 that picks up cancer marks in the blood, demand this test, you may have to pay out of pocket, but it would be a good thing to take that blood test. Some insurance pays for it, some doesn't, demand it. Patti
