is methodone like a pain medicine? i hve heard if someone wants to get off of pain meds they take methodone.but i also heard methodone is just as addicting as narcotic pain meds ... is this true?
Methadone is used to get off the opiates (pain pills) as well as for pain control itself. Although it is a narcotic, it is used because it prevents withdrawals without the "high" that some people get from the opiates. It is very addictive and therefore difficult to get off of. You have to taper slowly over much time to prevent withdrawals. So to answer your question, methadone is addictive just like opiate pain meds.
Hope this helps,
methodone is mainly used for getting off of heroin. it is not what i would suggest using to get off of pain meds.or taking for pain. If you are taking htese pain meds becasue you need them stick with them. if you are recreationally taking them and want off i suggest you got to a detox clinic. they will detox you off with suboxin in 3 days and you will be fine. methodone is nothing to mess with. beside the side effects are horrible.
