... children, but my husband and I were going to start trying to get pregnant until my doctor diagnosed me with endo again. He wants me to go on Lupron Depot and not try to get pregnant yet. I feel more nervous about this than I did with surgery. Everything I have read seems rather negative. Anyone have any advice on why he wants me to do this first, or just advice in general? I just received all this information today, so I was shocked and didn't ask a lot of questions. Thanks
This sounds strange to me, as one of the things that helps endo is getting pregnant, I thought (and it helped me!). I have heard only horrible things about Lupron. I have been on Synarel recently and although the side effects (sweats, insomnia) are rough they are not as bad as what I've heard with Lupron, and it is a nasal spray which is nice. It does seem to have helped my pain some. But again, I would get a second opinion because I think getting pregnant is your best bet (if you can... maybe its because the doctor thinks you won't?).
I would try to get pregnant right away. We tried after my surgery, and I was pregnant within 2 months. Pregnancy does the same thing as lupron, which is supress the endometriosis. So that makes no sense to me. Plus, the lupron is extremely expensive, if your insurance doesn't cover it. So, I would definitely check on that first.
