It is possible to have the same reaction to the percocet without drinking the alcohol. The alcohol increases the liklihood of the central nervous system depression, but may not be the only cause of it. You may be allergic to the oxycodone in the percocet which would possibly affect your breathing.
Bottom line: It is very difficult to say whether it was the percocet alone or the combination of the percocet with the alcohol. Most likely it was the combo but there is really no way to know for sure unless you have taken percocet alone without any problems.
