I had emergency colon surgery this past week. I am having severe anxiety since. I take 60mg Cymbalta twice daily. Shouldn't this be enough to offset the anxiety? In addition the anxiety came on while going through my recent Fentanyl patch taper and withdrawals. Is it all due to having anxious personality?
Since you are on a high dose of Cymbalta, I would hope that it is doing the job. Your anxiety may well be from the withdrawls and subsequent surgery. I would give it some time to see if it subsides and contact the doctor if it becomes intolerable.
Wishing you the best, keep in touch,
Just give yourself a little more time hopefully the Cymbalta will start to help, I know any time I have reduced or even changed medicines (I have Chronic pain) it usually takes my body time to adjust to the change, If you don't start ti improve then just to be on the safe side I think the best thing to do is give the doctor a call and talk with him, explain to him just how you are feeling. You take good care, but please remember if you don't start to feel better give the doctor a call I hope you start to feel better soon
I was prescribed Cymbalta for anxiety. I was told it was mainly prescribed for anti depression. My face came out in a huge rash and it didnt help my anxiety at all. My friend Equinox14 was on it for a while and then went through complete hell getting off it. There are more suitable medications out there for anxiety than Cymbalta. Im sorry, this is just my opinion. I am on valium for anxiety now but this is med causes addiction if used too often and therefore the end result is the same as withdrawing from cymbalta. I wish you all the luck and hope in the world. Skins1970
