I went in to get my refill after going back and forth from the pharmacy to triage they determined my meds were not actually shipped to me so they gave me a refill then. A few days later I got the other refill in the mail I called several times just to be on hold for 20 to 30 minutes I just decided to not go for a refill for 2 months to even it out. Did I just ruin my pain contract with my doctors office???
I personally dont think that you ruined your contract with your pain doctor. It doesnt sound like it was even your fault and you say you waited the extra month.Show your doc the mistake made and be honest most doctors appreciate honesty. My drs office made a similar mistake and when I brought it to their attention they were greatful.I hope all goes well for you I for one know how hard it can be to find a good dr who will listen and help treat your pain.
As long as you call your doctor, let him know of your plan, you should be in the clear. Something similar to this has happened to me before, and it wasn't an issue at all due to promptly letting the docs staff know. If you let them know asap, then it goes down in your record as being a responsible patient, letting their doc know of any strange circumstances. Now if you wait, then it may be a problem, after all, the last thing that they want is to be surprised, even if things even out in the end. On the off chance that they call you prior to the months end letting you know that they will not fill out a second prescription, then there's no way for them to know that you had no plan on filling out the next months script (an unlikely event, but something that could happen). Best of luck!
