I am going tomorrow for my doc to figure out where to go from here. Savella worked great for pain but the side effects even at a low dose were too much for me at this time in my life. Any suggestions out there? Thanks for any help you may have to offer!
MiMi, i had similar problem with savella. It helped some with the pain but the side effects were almost unbearable. These are the changes i made with my doctor that seem to be helping. I take 12.5mg savella in morning and 25mg at night. I also take tramadol 50-100mg 3x day for pain, soma 350 3x day +bedtime for muscle pain/spasm, ambien cr 12.5mg for sleep. I have zofran prn for nausea (which has been improving the longer i allow myself to adjust to savella), norco 10-325 for bad breakthru pain, and lidoderm patches for bad trigger point pain. I also take a magnesium supplement and b vitamins supplement. It seems like a lot, but it's working for me. The biggest change I've made is switching from skelaxin to soma and adding the lidoderm patches. Without really understanding how your fibro affects you specifically, I don't know how much my experiences & current regimen will help you. But what I am learning from being in this group is some regimens really help some people and you could be one of those helped. talk to your doctor about medications and alternative treatments you've read about and ask if they might help you. Please feel free to add or friend me on here. I believe we have a lot in common and could benefit from the other's experiences. I hope this helps you :-)
