has worked. i take benzos but im sick of having to rely on them plus they are also very addicting. i just want to go back to my normal self again. can anyone recommend anything that has worked? ive tried prozac paxil busbar & seroquel. is there even anything LEFT to try?
I think we have all felt that way at one point or time. There is a few meds that might help i have bad anxiety too and my doc gave me prozac,it worked great but the only way to know is talk to a therapist and tell them everything your feeling and maybe they will give you something that will really help you.because everyone is differant its hard to say what will work best for you but you can ask about prozac or cymbalta i have heard great things about that too.hope this helps
There are still some other options out there. I would recommend seeing a specialist like a psychiatrist if everything else your doctor has given you and increasing the dosages hasn't helped. You may look at trying an SSRI that affects serotonin. If that nurotransmitter is defficient that can cause anxiety. I suffered from it in addition to depression. You may try zoloft, lexapro or clonazapam(that's a benzo). I take lexapro and clonazapam. Lexapro is a better quality ssri. It took a few times to get the dosage right bit now I can say my anxiety is under control.
hey there my poor husband suffers from clinical depression and chemical imbalances etc... has even been diagnosed with intermitent explosive disorder by a psychologist and doctor of psychology too. Anyway the one that does the trick for him and makes him very normal is lexapro 20mg in the morning and 20mg at night before bed. He is very big 300 pounds and diabetic also. he has had 6 bipasses and does not take care of himself. He has a very addictive personality which goes along with his dissorders and has abused every drug out there trust me but... lexapro makes him as normal as apple pie he has used it for 5 years now I pray it keeps working hope this will help you God Bless you Dear LOve Seaweed Sam...
I have had panic and anxiety since I can remember. Even before Catholic school. I would avoid triggers to attacks which limited daily functions in a huge way. Finally after 40+ years I gave in and found that Celexa and a benzo did work for me in less than a couple days. Then I started doing yoga and meditation because I was calm enough to do so. Now I suffer from several herniated discs, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis and other muscular disorders exacerbated by a car accident and I take additional antidepressants and methadone for pain. I am sure that most of the antidepressants have side effects but I would not be able to get out of bed without my meds. I have learned to talk myself out of most of the panics but I believe it is because of the meds that I can do that.
